    • How Savor Brands Made Waves at Houston’s 2025 Coffee Expo

    The Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) Expo 2025 in Houston wasn't just another weekend for coffee lovers and pros — it was a true celebration of innovation, passion, and community. Savor Brands showed up strong with a bold split booth design, new product launches, and a full schedule of activities supporting the World Coffee Roasting Championship (WCRC). Here's a look back at everything that went down over the four-day event.

    Prepping for Greatness: Day 0

    Before the doors officially opened, the excitement was already brewing.
    • Savor Brands handed out fortune cookies to visitors the entire show, adding a personal touch to the last day of connections.
    • We had some special visits throughout the show from industry friends, beginning with Daniel at Cropster.
    • Roasters gathered for orientation, learning the ins and outs of the competition rules.
    • They met the judges, sponsors, and equipment suppliers, asking important questions to fine-tune their approach.
    • The first group of competitors hit the practice floor early with sample roasting and open cupping sessions, setting the tone for the days ahead.
    Meanwhile, the Savor Brands team worked hard setting up their vibrant booth at space #1231, blending high-tech digital displays with real-world coffee passion.

    The Big Kickoff: Day 1 at Booth #1231

    The wait was over — Day 1 of SCA Expo 2025 had arrived! The Savor Brands booth, perfectly positioned near the SCA Community Lounge, became a key destination. Highlights included:
    • The debut of the 2025 Pono Coffee Bags featuring bold new designs.
    • A fun horoscope-inspired promotion tying different Pono bags to zodiac signs — like Pono Leo for Leos and the Compost+ Hourglass Pouch for Pisces.
    • Conversations around packaging innovation and sustainable coffee bag solutions.
    • A showcase of the new Digital Hexagon Soft Touch Bag — a big step forward in custom digital printing for coffee brands.
    Across the floor, the first batch of competitors moved into production roasting — with 30 minutes for single origin and 60 minutes for blend roasting, matching strict roast profiles they had developed during practice.

    Building the Buzz: Day 2

    By Day 2, the energy at the expo was full blast.
    • Visitors kept streaming into Booth 1231 to check out both sides of Savor Brands' setup — with Savor Live, their digital ordering platform, featured prominently.
    • Roasters in the second competition group began their production roasts.
    • Main stage interviews kicked off, giving roasters a chance to share their stories.
    • Sample roasting areas kept the competition space buzzing as competitors fine-tuned their final batches.
    The Savor Brands team also got a little playful, sharing behind-the-scenes moments and booth photos that showed off their personality.

    A Grand Finale: Day 3

    The final day came with a mix of excitement and celebration.
    • Attendees flocked to the main stage to watch the ultimate cupping session — a rare gathering of some of the world's top roasters.
    The day closed with the WCRC Awards Ceremony, crowning this year's champions:
    • First Place: Mikaël Portannier (France) — Texture
    • Second Place: Ashton Huang (Taiwan) — Ritrovare Coffee
    • Third Place: Naruepon Wuttipappinyo (Thailand) — Factory Coffee
    • Fourth Place: Song Chundan (China) — Do Your Best Coffee
