Are you looking to upgrade and elevate your pet food/treat packaging? This guide will walk you through the essential steps and important things to consider when developing standout packaging to reinforce your brand's presence in the market.
The First Step: Determining the Product You Want to Package
The type of pet food product such as kibble, freeze dried meat, frozen raw meat, or treats and supplements play a huge factor in determining the type of packaging and material you should select. For example, kibble just requires a metalized layer to protect its shelf life and presence while refrigerated raw meat products requires a high barrier freeze-safe packaging. If you're unsure of the type of packaging material best suits your product's needs, make sure to reach out to the Savor Brands team to ask!

Design Your Bag
Once you've determined the print process, bag style, material and closure - we can move onto the design step. Our team will send you your dieline based on your chosen bag specs and your designer can begin working on your new look! Need a designer? check out our contact list here.
💡 Design tips:
  • Make sure your designer includes the required labeling information for pet food and treats
  • Designer should include color callouts in Pantone C (for ROTOGRAVURE printing) or CMYK (for DIGITAL printing)
  • If your designer is unsure about placement, make sure to provide them with our contact and we will work directly with them to ensure your dream design gets translated onto the final print!
What Happens Next?
When your design is completed, send it over to our Pre-Press team to receive complimentary artwork proofing and the final check before production. Depending on the print process you select, the lead time may vary.
  • Need packaging right away? We recommend our DIGITAL print process with a 5-7 week lead time.
  • Ordering in a large volume? The ROTOGRAVURE print process with a 9-11 week lead time is the way to go for the most cost savings available.
The best part of partnering with us? You’ll receive regular status updates throughout the process, and our team takes care of all shipping - directly to your door - so you never have to deal with a middleman.
