Brew the Romance, Layer the Sweetness
At Savor Brand, we love finding simple ways to turn great coffee into something special. For Valentine’s weekend, our office created a homemade tiramisu using one of our partner brands, Tuscan Cafe. Their smooth espresso blend brought everything together and balanced the sweetness perfectly.
The result? A rich, creamy dessert that everyone in the office enjoyed before the holiday even started.
If you are looking for a fun Valentine’s Day idea, this is it. Brew a cup of Tuscan Cafe coffee or take it one step further and make this tiramisu at home.
Why We Chose Tuscan Cafe’s Espresso Blend
When you are making tiramisu, the espresso matters. It is not just an extra flavor. It is the base of the dessert.
We used Tuscan Cafe’s smooth espresso blend because:
- It has a bold but balanced taste
- It cuts through the sweetness of the mascarpone cream
- It pairs well with cocoa powder
- It adds depth without overpowering the dessert
That smooth espresso layer soaked into the lady fingers and gave the tiramisu its classic flavor. Each bite had the perfect mix of coffee, cream, and cocoa.
The Tiramisu Recipe We Used
Here is the exact recipe our team followed.
Ingredients
6 shots of espresso
1/4 cup cocoa powder
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 packages of lady fingers
5 egg yolks
1/2 cup sugar
Pinch of salt
2 containers of mascarpone cheese
2 cups heavy cream
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Prepare the Espresso Mixture
In a bowl, mix the espresso shots, cocoa powder, and vanilla. Stir until there are no clumps left. Set it aside.
2. Mix Egg Yolks and Sugar
Separate 6 egg yolks into a large mixing bowl. Add 1/2 cup of sugar.
Using a hand mixer or stand mixer, blend the eggs and sugar together. A stand mixer works faster. Add a pinch of salt while mixing.
3. Add the Mascarpone
Slowly add the mascarpone cheese while continuing to mix. Blend until everything is smooth and combined.
4. Whip the Cream
Pour in 2 cups of heavy cream. Whip the mixture until stiff peaks form.
5. Build the Layers
Dip each lady finger into the espresso cocoa mixture. Place them in a 9 x 13 pan to create the first layer.
Once the bottom is covered:
- Add generous dollops of the mascarpone cream on top
- Spread it evenly
- Dust cocoa powder over the layer
Repeat the process until you have at least two layers.
6. Chill and Serve
Refrigerate the tiramisu for 2 hours.
After chilling, slice and serve.
