Kelleigh Stewart is the co-founder of Big Island Coffee Roasters located in Hilo, HI. Big Island Coffee Roasters has a roastery, production studio, along with a mill and farm in Kona on the big island. You can experience the whole farm to cup experience at Big Island Coffee Roasters. You will start at their Wood Valley farm in Ka'u. This farm has a lot of different varieties of coffee ranging from Moragogipe, Caturra, Geisha, and Typica. You will learn about the different ways to process coffee and also experience dry milling, grading, and optical sorting. Ending with a roasting experience and allowing all the Pono Collective students to enjoy the cup of coffee they viewed at the farm.

About Pono Collective:
Pono Collective provides culinary students the opportunity to earn credit towards their degree by registering for this four-day, multi island event showcasing Hawai'i grown coffee. This holistic approach grants the students access to professionals and helps foster an understanding of the diverse roles within the coffee value chain. The opportunities provided by Pono Collective help students not only develop a better understanding and appreciation for coffee but also helps them discover new ways to utilize their education that go beyond the kitchen by being able to form connections in other fields such as agriculture, science, and business.
